Arès Maude

Maude Arès is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tio’tia:ke/Montreal. Her art practice includes installation, sculpture, performance, scenography, and drawing, through which she investigates perceptual relations among found materials. In her arrangements of various materials, she creates vulnerable environments that invite us to pay attention to the subtleties of tangible worlds. Arès combines her reflections on the performance of materials and the gestures that move them in projects that intertwine visual arts and performing arts. By attending to the forces and activities of materials, she explores the ways in which movements and actions of living beings – human and non-human – influence each other.
